Makarov PM This was the standard Soviet service pistol from the 1950s onwards and was also widely used by KGB agents because of its relatively small size and easy concealability. This is essentially a larger copy of the Walther PPK design firing a smaller less powerful round than the NATO equivalent 9x19mm parabellum. It is tough and reliable but by modern Western standards remains somewhat dated. It can be found still in use in armies of ex-Soviet republics and Warsaw Pact countries.
