We hold Steel Safari events at set dates in the summer (May - September). These dates are available for individuals, couples a and his which are available to individuals to join before
Private Bookings (6-10 people per booking)
We can also run Steel Safari on other dates between May and September if you have between six and ten people in your group.

Clothing
The event takes place outdoors and involves some physical activity so please wear something practical and comfortable, and bring a waterproof coat and waterproofoutdoor footwear (walking boots are ideal). Trainers are not recommended. In the event of rainy weather Wellington boots and waterproof trousers are recommended. Eye and ear protection are provided.
Meals and Refreshments
Tea, and coffee will be available upon arrival and during breaks. Bottled drinking water is available during the shooting event. Please bring your own sandwiches/packed lunch.
Weather
Shooting will take place in all but the most severe weathers so will not be cancelled in the event of rain etc. In the event of extreme weather please contact us on 01283 234 231 or 07961 828 458 to find out the status of the planned event.
Proof of Identification
It is important that you bring an official form of photo identification. Ideally a valid photo Driving Licence, or a current passport. As you will be using firearms during the day, our shooting centre has a legal responsibility to check and make a copy of this before allowing you to participate in the shooting activities.
Eligibility
Must be 17 or over (under 18s will require a parent or guardian to attend the event with them). Participants should be in general good health. No experience with firearms is necessary. Under UK law certain people with are prohibited from shooting. "Prohibited Persons" are defined as..
A person who has been sentenced to preventive detention or to imprisonment or to corrective training for a term of three years or more; or who has been sentenced to be detained in a young offenders' institution in Scotland, shall not, at any time, have a firearm or ammunition in his possession.
This means for life and includes all firearms, even air weapons.
A person who has been sentenced to borstal training, to corrective training for less than three years, or to imprisonment for a term of three months or more, but less than three years; or who has been sentenced to be detained for such a term in a detention centre or in a young offenders' institution in Scotland, shall not at any time before the expiration of a period of five years, from the date of his release, have a firearm or ammunition in his possession.

16. Borrowed rifles on private premises
(1) A person of or over the age of seventeen may, without holding a firearm certificate, borrow a rifle from the occupier of private premises and use it on those premises in the presence either of the occupier or of a servant of the occupier if
(a) the occupier or servant in whose presence it is used holds a firearm certificate in respect of that rifle; and
(b) the borrowers possession and use of it complies with any conditions as to those matters specified in the certificate.
